This is an excellent product; however, almost every vehicle installation like this has some issues.
This good news first: The sliders provide a much clearer appearance to the Wilderness than the cladding they replace. They are very robust and effective. They are not bulky. They provide a step up to items stored on your load bars like tools, bikes, pods or traction devices. They are nicely finished.
The not-so-good news: The sliders can be difficult to install. The rivnuts can be a bear to deal with. I did not use a pneumatic rivnut installation tool. I don't believe they are recommended (too powerful). I used a very high-quality install tool that I have used before. When installing the bolts, the "nut" would occasionally spin. It wasn't the end of the world, but it was tedious. Patient and experience help. Don't lose patience.
The quality of the rivnuts appeared first rate. I'm not anticipating any rusting like 95% of Amazon's rivnuts do. CAtuned provides fine materials.
The sliders' holes do not line up perfectly with the Wilderness's. It's an excellent match, but not perfect (nothing is). Use vice grips (with towels in the jaws) to aligned some of the holes. Again, just be patient.
When I was all done with this minor project I felt it was time, money and effort well worth it. Just don't expect anything as bolt-on friendly as CAtuned's brush bar.
The sliders are an EXCELLENT product and Adventure Rig Shop provided EXCELLENT service.
Very pleased indeed!
Great quality build and fantastic look for my Subaru OBW. I installed myself in my driveway and it was kind of a bear to get them installed. I had several of the rivet nuts spin in the frame but was able to snug them up once I mounted the sliders. One bolt hole at the top does not line up even with all other bolts installed (even loosely at first) so I don't know if it's me or that particular slider. I plan to re-do that side to try and get all bolts installed. Looked so good I've been driving the vehicle already though, so I'll have to fix that on the next good weather day :-)
